Position Summary: Washburn University's Allied Health Department invites applications for the position of Bachelor of Health Science Lecturer to begin August 1, 2025. This is a 9-month full-time, non-tenure track appointment as a Lecturer.

The Allied Health Department offers nationally accredited programs and offerings at multiple levels including associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degrees.

Essential Functions:
• Fulfill teaching expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment. Teach 12-hours per semester (either in-person or online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
• Teach and develop curriculum according to course competencies as assigned and as dependent upon department needs, which may include Bachelor of Health Science courses or some combination of classes consistent with the candidate’s training and interests.
• Fulfill service expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment by engaging in service activities in the department, university, and profession.
• Advise students and maintain on-campus office hours in accordance with SAS and university policy, attend meetings, and engage in service activities in the Allied Health Department, the School of Applied Studies, the University, the profession, and the community.
• Support Program Directors to assure effective program operations.
• Adhere to all university policies and perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a healthcare field from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
• Minimum of three years of experience in the field of public health.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
• Official educational transcripts are required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate degree in a relevant healthcare or public health field from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
• Experience in grant writing and/or coordination.
• Management experience in public health.
• Leadership or administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
• College/post-secondary teaching experience.
• Experience in curriculum development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
• Experience in program planning and assessment.
