Position Summary: This position serves as an integral part of Washburn’s strategic recruitment plan. The Admissions Visit Specialist is responsible for scheduling and coordinating prospective students’ personal visits, group visits, and other visit events to one of Washburn’s campuses. The role implements the campus visit experience designed by the department and ensures each visit is an effective part of Washburn’s recruitment strategy.

The assignment of locations or tasks between Washburn University and Washburn University Institute of Technology is flexible and determined by location needs.

Essential Functions:
• Develops, organizes, and executes the Washburn recruitment and campus visit strategy for assigned undergraduate populations.
• Plans and executes recruitment events that align with Washburn’s overall recruitment strategy. Design personalized individual and group visits that focus on the interests of the guests. Arrange meetings with other campus personnel to enhance the visit and showcase what Washburn University and Washburn University Institute of Technology (Washburn Tech) offer.
• Serve as a point of contact for high school, community college, and community personnel to collaboratively bring prospective students for a campus visit experience at Washburn or Washburn Tech.
• Interpret and analyze data to identify trends in student recruitment, campus visits, and retention programs to inform strategic decisions. Assist with providing timely and accurate marketing and promotion of new student recruitment campus visit events. Responsible for ensuring post-event surveys and informative communications are sent to visitors regarding their campus visit experiences.
• Work collegially with other recruitment and campus visit staff to ensure every recruitment event succeeds.
• Provide support and lead student ambassadors to ensure their effective contribution to new student recruitment through an informative, fun, and engaging visit experience. Assist with training and hiring efforts as appropriate.
• Participate in unit and department meetings, training opportunities, and other appropriate professional development.
• Provide supplemental support as needed for processing applications and transcripts, administering admissions decisions, and other related duties.
• Effectively use emerging recruitment and enrollment technologies.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or expected degree completion by the end of the hiring semester.
• Experience in collegiate admissions, recruitment, sales, collegiate activities, or other related areas.
• Demonstrated effective written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proven ability and commitment to establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships, including underrepresented student populations.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions while adhering to deadlines.
• Ability to effectively operate Windows operating software and Microsoft Office products.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable by Washburn’s standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Washburn Alumni.
