Position Title: Anthropology Special Project Lab Assistant

Position Summary: Work with Anthropology/WU-FARU faculty and staff to facilitate the analysis and cataloguing of archaeological collections and human remains.

Essential Functions:
• Prepare and organize material to be analyzed
• Pack and sort materials
• Maintain data records using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Bend, lift, and move archaeological materials contained in boxes/shelves to and from workstations.

Required Qualifications:
• Grade of B or better in AN316 Forensic Anthropology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to bend, move, and lift materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Capacity to use a ladder and/or step stool and stand for long periods of time (~7-8 hours).
• Reliable transportation to and from job location during work periods.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Completion of AN327 Fragmentary Human Osteology (grade B or above) and/or volunteer hours with the WU-FARU (minimum of 10 hours).
• Detail-oriented with effective time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to work effectively on a team.
