General Summary
Operate sanitation vehicle in the collection, hauling and disposal of refuse; and assist in the coordination of the collection schedule.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of refuse as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness of work, storage, and pick up areas and all vehicles and equipment used in the performance of duties.
- Perform as a Groundsperson and Special Project Crewperson as assigned.
- Operate sanitation vehicle equipped with hydraulic lifting and packing devices.
- Maintain and perform minor service and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Report any damage, malfunction, irregularities and/or potential hazards in building, grounds, equipment, vehicles or supplies to supervisor.
- Assist in coordinating collection schedule.
- Perform related Departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, interpret, and act upon written and/or oral communication is necessary.
One year of heavy truck driving experience is necessary.
Ability to meet Departmental standards of reasonable personal hygiene is necessary.
A good driving record is required.
Ability to perform physically active work of a heavy nature, requiring frequent walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching activity to collect and dispose of refuse; and frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to 50 pounds of force is necessary.

Salary: FM 14 = $21.77 an hour/$45,282 annually
Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
