Assistant Professor, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Educator Preparation Richmond Campus
The Department of Teaching Learning and Educational Leadership at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher Preparation for Academic Year 2025-2026. Applicants should hold an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education (including Critical Studies in Deaf Education, Deaf Studies and Deaf Education, Special/Exceptional Education, or Applied Linguistics, etc.) from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. Applicants should have experience teaching Deaf, Hard of Hearing and/or DeafBlind children.  The position begins August, 2025. The position will serve as the primary faculty and program coordinator of DHH students in the B.S. Elementary DHH, Middle Grades DHH, M.A.T. DHH, and MAED DHH programs. It requires teacher certification relevant Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. The successful candidate will teach classes online and in person. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a 4/4 annual teaching load, develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda, conduct academic advising/program coordination, and participate in service to the department, university, and community. In addition, membership and participation in state, regional, national, or international professional organizations is recommended.
