Job Summary/Basic Functions
The College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences (CLASS) is seeking federal work-study (FWS) eligible students for the position of Student Ambassador. Student Ambassadors play a vital role in ensuring a warm, positive, and meaningful college visit experience within the academic college. Focused on engaging with both prospective and current students, their families, and guests, these ambassadors are essential in communicating information about our academic programs, offering a student's viewpoint on the academic journey, creating a sense of community and mentorship with current students, and fostering an atmosphere where questions are met with well-informed perspectives. This position demands reliability, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for regular public engagement. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Key responsibilities of the ambassador role include:
• Assisting with tours of prospective students, families, and/or high school students to show CLASS academic buildings and spaces where our students excel in their major.
• Participate in in-person events for both prospective students and current students.
• Attend and participate in Ambassador meetings and trainings and other duties as assigned by the academic college.
• Participate in the CLASS Ambassador Mentorship Program, if needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Current student enrolled in a major within the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Job Duties:
- 50% - Participate in in-person events for both prospective and current students hosted by the CLASS. - (Essential)
- 15% - Assisting with tours of prospective students, families, and/or high school students to show CLASS academic buildings and spaces where our students excel in their major. - (Essential)
- 10% - Attend and participate in Ambassador meetings and trainings. - (Essential)
- 25% - Other duties as assigned which relate to assisting prospective students, current students, families, guests, inquiries, and applicants. - (Essential)
