Job Summary/Basic Functions
EKU Housing & Residence life (HRL) is seeking THREE graduate assistants for the 2025-2026 academic year. These positions will assist in a variety of tasks necessary for the operation of HRL and the success of our campus residential communities. Please see below for specific details for each position assignment. All three of these positions will work out of the HRL office in the Whitlock building and are supervised by an Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life.
Graduate Assistant for Curriculum and Success The Graduate Assistant for Curriculum and Success will play a vital role in supporting early intervention and retention initiatives within the residential community. This GA will be an essential part of the team responsible for implementing and assessing the residential curriculum, ensuring that educational strategies align with student development goals. They will assist in developing intentional learning opportunities for residents through structured programming, passive educational materials, and engagement efforts. Additionally, this GA will work closely with in-hall staff to provide guidance on curriculum implementation, facilitate training sessions, assess learning outcomes, and make data-driven recommendations for curriculum improvements.
Graduate Assistant for Case Management and Operations The Graduate Assistant for Case Management and Operations will focus on working on managing a variety of student cases. This GA will collaborate with in-hall staff and campus partners to provide necessary resources aimed at student success. This GA will monitor students progress and evaluate the most appropriate next steps. This GA will work with a variety of reporting tools to ensure departmental standards and timelines are met. In addition, this GA will provide support to our residential community desks in providing excellent customer service.
Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Communication The Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Communication will support the development and implementation of communication strategies to engage residential students and promote departmental initiatives. This GA will be responsible for managing social media accounts, creating digital and print marketing materials, and assisting with website updates to ensure clear and effective messaging. They will collaborate with in-hall staff and campus partners to highlight student experiences and departmental programs. Additionally, this GA will support outreach efforts, including email campaigns, newsletters, and event promotions, to enhance student engagement within the residential community.

Minimum Qualifications
• Unconditional acceptance into a graduate degree program at Eastern Kentucky University • Enroll in at least nine (9) credit hours per semester in a graduate degree program • Maintain a 3.0 GPA in coursework leading toward the completion of graduate degree • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills • Possess excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • Skills in multi-tasking and the availability to work evenings and weekends as needed • Possess excellent administrative skills
