Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Eastern Kentucky University Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and the Environment is accepting applications for a full-time staff position of Program Specialist.

The Program Specialist will provide administrative and professional support services for activities of the Institute of AGNE. The candidate will assist the Executive Director with operations including, but not limited to, communications, human resources processes, recruitment coordination, preparation of reports, and scheduling of programs and events; budget tracking and monitoring, travel/expense voucher processing, and other accounting or financial tasks; planning and implementation of educational programs and events; and other office functions.

A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. One year of related experience is required. Preference for experience with administrative assistance and with educational programming. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with undergraduate students and the university community.

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Perform administrative functions to support the effective operation of the Institute and associated programs, including but not limited to human resources processes, recruitment coordination, preparation of reports, and scheduling of programs and events. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Provides budget tracking and monitoring, travel/expense voucher processing, and other accounting or financial tasks. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Assist with planning and implementation of educational programs and events. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
