Job Summary/Basic Functions
An EKU Academic and Career Advisor provides academic advising to students as they enter college, identify and select a major, and transition to the college of their chosen major. Academic and Career Advisors focus on academic plans and goals, through comprehensive knowledge of the institution's programs, academic requirements, and support services and through tailoring advising support to a student's chosen major and career, all in an effort to promote student success, retention, and progress to graduation.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Masters Degree required.
Experience: At least one year of college-level experience working with students in an advisory/support or teaching capacity is required.

Job Duties:
- 50% - Advises students and intervenes in matters related to goals, policies, choice of curriculum, course load, study habits, course scheduling, academic action, problem resolution, and transition into a major and career field. - ()
- 20% - Assists with orientation and registration by planning/revising new student program materials, developing and presenting information, assisting students with advising/registration processes, and representing the college at other recruitment functions/event - ()
- 10% - Provides interventions for first-year and continuing students, impacting student success and supporting the goals of the Office of Academic and Career Services. - ()
- 10% - Serves as a source of development and communication by working with others in order to provide students timely information on educational options and University policies. - ()
- 10% - Performs other duties as assigned. - ()
