Job Summary:

The Drake University Teaching and Learning Department invites applications for a part-time adjunct position as a Student Teaching Supervisor. This position will be responsible for the supervision of students during the Spring 2025 term.

The instructor will be responsible for a minimum of bi-weekly site/observation visits to each of the schools where a student teacher assigned to the supervisor has been placed. The supervisor will provide feedback to the student teacher, cooperating teacher, and program director. The supervisor will facilitate seminar sessions with the student teachers in their group on designated Tuesday evenings during the semester.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree
At least five years teaching experience
A K-12 or 5-12 teaching endorsement

Job Duties:

  • Attend a minimum number of bi-weekly site/observation visits to the student teacher's school. - (Essential)

  • Complete the evaluation of the student teacher. - (Essential)
  • Communicate with the cooperating teacher assigned to each student teacher. - (Essential)
  • Facilitate seminar sessions with the student teachers in their group on designated Tuesday evenings during the semester. - (Essential)
  • Communicate with the program director. - (Essential)
  • Attend supervisor meetings. - (Essential)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
