Head Start Teacher, Newton - 999931 Iowa
Drake University Head Start is seeking a professional candidate to serve as a preschool classroom Teacher in our Knoxville classroom. the classroom is located in Newton. This position leads daily activities in the classroom through developing, implementing, and evaluating early childhood curriculum and practice. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering lessons focused on social-emotional skills and kindergarten readiness. Each of our Head Start Teachers partners with a teacher associate to fulfill educational, nutritional, and hygienic needs of children while they are in the classroom.
Assistant Director of Bands/Assistant Professor of Percussion or Winds - 999534 Iowa
Teach MUS 148 (Band), which includes directing the Drake University Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Bulldog Brass Pep Band. Teach/lead applied studio of your primary instrument as well as chamber music coaching (candidates with a background in percussion, horn, or clarinet are encouraged to apply). Teach methods courses in your area of specialty for Music Education majors. If qualified, the candidate may also teach MUS 134 (Marching Band Techniques), and/or MUS 159 (Instrumental Performance in the Junior and Senior High School). Finally, this individual could teach a course in the Drake Curriculum, depending upon need, load, and expertise. Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts - 997995 Iowa
The Drake University Department of Theatre Arts seeks applicants to fill a tenure-track position in our Musical Theatre program. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): teaching courses in the musical theatre curriculum including applied voice lessons and music theory; directing one musical per year as part of our Main Stage season; music directing two productions annually, advising and mentoring student performances and assisting in recruiting and committee work. The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in musical theatre, experience teaching and directing at the university level and professional performance experience.
