International Student Coordinator - 997249 Iowa
More than 150 international students from over 50 countries study at Drake University. The International Student Coordinator serves as a valuable resource for prospective and current international students. As a member of the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) Team, the coordinator will support international students before they arrive and during their time here on campus. The coordinator provides pre-arrival information, arrival and orientation services, immigration advice, and special programs specifically for international students.
Adjunct Instructor of Costuming - 200095 Iowa
This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities centered on costume design and construction. 1.) This faculty member will teach two courses. Course #1, THEA030 Costuming meets Tuesday/Thursday from 9:30-10:45, capped at 12 students. This course also includes a Costuming Lab (THEA030L) that meets Monday through Friday from 3pm-5pm capped at 12 students. Course #2 THEA184 Costume Design meets Monday/Wednesday from 12:30-1:45, capped at 12 students. 2.) In addition to teaching, this faculty member will be responsible for designing costumes for the Department of Theatre Arts Spring 2025 production of the musical Chicago in the Performing Arts Hall. Performances will run April 3-5, 2025. Design work entails research and analysis of period and location, rendering designs and overseeing their construction in consultation with the director, as well as attending production meetings and technical rehearsals as part of the larger production team for the show. 3.) The last component of this position is supervision of the Costume Studio. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 3pm-5pm. Students in the THEA030 class use the space to complete course related work. This is also the space where costumes for all Main Stage productions are built and/or maintained with the assistance of 5 work-study students. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing student costume design and construction work, as well as maintaining costume equipment and inventory. The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Visiting Assistant Director, Bands - 20055 (1-year part-time sabbatical replacement) Iowa
Drake University is searching for applicants who are interested in directing the Drake University Marching Band, Bulldog Brass Pep Band, and conducting the symphonic band. These ensembles include undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-major participants. Additional responsibilities include communication with the Director of Bands, effective communication with students, and grade assignments. This is a two-semester appointment (Academic Year 2024-25) to cover for a faculty member who will be on sabbatical.

Drake University Head Start is seeking professional candidates to serve as Teacher Associates in the following locations: Southridge (999373) Norwalk (998717) Ankeny (999116) Ames (999358) This position will assist the teacher and child in daily activities in the classroom. This individual will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate practice. This position consists of light cooking, assisting the teacher, and working directly with the children. Some time spent completing required paperwork. Work with the teacher to develop activities for children based on their interests and individual needs. Encourage the children to develop a positive self-concept through supportive and cheerful interaction. Assist with instruction by following lesson plans while adapting plans to meet individual learning styles. Promote successful classroom performance for each student. Assist teacher with documentation and observations of the children.
