ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team on Barrow Island and contribute to the valuable work we do.
As the Environmental Advisor you will be responsible for ensuring that Ertech complies with contractual environmental specifications, environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and Ertech standards.
Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Undertake field-based environmental safeguard assurance inspections and validations.
- Conduct incident investigation and management.
- Waste sampling, management and classification.
- Support site-based environmental activities, including fauna inspections and handling, ground and vegetation disturbance permits and environmental assessments (erosion and sediment control).
- Quarantine inspections and management.
- Soil/material tracking.
- Fuel tracking and reporting.
- Provide guidance to all personnel in the areas of environmental programs, training, corrective actions, issues and successes to ensure Ertech’s interests and responsibilities relating to the environment are protected and proved.
- Identify key environmental issues in upcoming work scopes and address with relevant people, escalating where required.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Prior experience in an enviro. advisor role (preferred).
- Field based experience conducting environmental assurance inspections.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
- Trained fauna handler (or willing to undertake fauna handling training).
- Erosion and sediment control experience
- Working knowledge in civil infrastructure
- Understand the relationship between effective HSE and achievement of project objectives (especially time, cost and quality)
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science/engineering or similar
- Erosion and Sediment Control Training (preferred)
- White Card and valid Drivers License
ABOUT BARROW ISLAND
Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.
Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!
