ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Project Engineer to join our Barrow Island team, supporting long-term Civil and Electrical Construction scopes.
As the QA/QC Project Engineer, you will report to the QA/QC Manager and be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
ABOUT BARROW ISLAND
Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It's also home to Chevron’s Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australia’s Gorgon Project for over 10 years.
Barrow Island provides excellent on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from), sporting facilities including a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, 2 swimming pools, basketball court, tennis court and a cricket pitch!
Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Implementing the contractor’s QA/QC and completions systems
- Maintaining, updating, and distributing quality documentation
- Developing special inspection and installation procedures where not covered by existing quality documents
- Preparing ITPs, check sheets, Concession/Deviation Reports (CDRs), Non-conformance Reports (NCRs), red-line markups, and other QA/QC documentation
- Performing inspections and coordinating testing to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, drawings, and ITPs
- Distributing QA findings and test reports, and maintaining QA records in internal and external systems
- Verifying defect rectification and developing corrective and preventive action plans as required
- Conducting incoming goods inspections to confirm material integrity
- Progressively compiling the project MDR (Manufacturers Data Report).
To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven QA/QC experience with detailed earthworks, concreting, and piping; and electrical scope experience is highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering and surveying practices
- Understanding of estimating principles, project planning, and scheduling
- Commercial awareness of contract management, cost control, productivity metrics, and forecasting
- MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights.
