Exciting Opportunity: Business Development Manager – Ion Endoluminal
Join the Device Technologies Robotics team as the Business Development Manager – Ion Endoluminal and play a pivotal role in revolutionising lung cancer diagnosis in Australia. As a National Capital Sales Business Development Manager, you will engage with key stakeholders, including thoracic and respiratory physicians, interventional pulmonologists, and hospital executives, to position Ion as the premier technology in the field. This role offers the chance to drive the commercial launch and success of the Ion Endoluminal system, leading capital sales and developing strategic relationships that will ensure successful outcomes for early adopters.
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Sales & Strategy Execution
- Lead capital equipment sales from lead generation to closure across public and private hospitals
- Develop and implement sales strategies to ensure market adoption and penetration to achieve revenue targets
- Build and maintain a strong capital pipeline
- Assist in the development of sales forecasts and budgets
- Prepare monthly capital reports
Stakeholder Management
- Identify, build and manage relationships with C-suite executives, department heads, clinical personnel, respiratory physicians, interventional pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons
- Understand strategic direction and other critical information of target accounts to build a business case
- Engage with KOLs to influence adoption
Customer Engagement & Market Development
- Support live clinical cases, ensuring successful outcomes for early adopters
- Work with early users to gather feedback and create sales success stories
- Effectively manage the transition from installation to first cases in conjunction with Product Specialist/s
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Coordinate with the Product Specialist to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Collaborate with the marketing team on product demonstrations and events
- Leverage resources (people, education, events, products) to achieve targets and strategic goals
- Provide in-field information back to the Business Manager/Product Manager to assist with the creation and execution of strategic plans.
Training & Development
- Complete technical and sales training through Intuitive Surgical in the United States.
Disclaimer: Please note that the Ion Endoluminal system is currently awaiting submission for registration with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The successful candidate will be involved in pre-market activities and will play a crucial role in the product's commercial launch upon TGA approval.

Experience required:
- Proven track record in capital sales of medical devices in a hospital setting
- Proven ability to exceed sales targets in a high-pressure environment
- Strong knowledge of hospital procurement processes and decision-making
- Excellent relationship-building skills with C-suite executives, physicians, and surgeons
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with a consultative approach
- Commitment to ongoing training in business development
- Sound computer skills
Desirable
- Experience in lung cancer diagnosis and treatment or minimally invasive procedures
- Regulatory affairs understanding
