The opportunity…
The Business Manager Capital is responsible for driving the strategic growth and market presence of da Vinci surgical systems across Australia. This role involves building, leading and developing a team of dynamic Business Development Managers, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the da Vinci surgical system footprint in alignment with company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and support Business Development Managers to achieve sales targets and enhance team performance.
- Assist BDM/CSM’s in negotiating key accounts
Business Development
- Build and maintain a robust capital pipeline for da Vinci surgical systems.
- Collaborate with Business Development Managers to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including public and private tenders.
- Assist
- Establish and nurture relationships with healthcare providers and reference sites to promote da Vinci systems.
Sales Management
- Oversee the preparation and execution of sales forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor market trends and provide insights to the General Manager for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure effective transition from installation to operational status in collaboration with Product Specialists.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present monthly sales and pipeline reports to the General Manager.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage expenses within budget
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with Product Managers to ensure that Business Development Managers are well-trained on product features and benefits.
- Participate in industry conferences, exhibitions, and seminars to enhance brand visibility and network with potential clients.

Experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management within the medical or surgical industry.
- Proven track record in capital sales and business development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior professionals.
- Proficient in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or healthcare.
- Understanding of regulatory affairs and compliance within the healthcare sector
