The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The position will be based at our Scottsdale Facility. Your duties will include:
Ensures financial policies and procedures are established and adhered to in accordance with IFRS and sound financial practices.
Ensures the organization complies with laws and regulations relating to taxation.
Responsibilities include:
Mentorship of financial team members in financial accounting
Finalization of invoices including the review of closed work orders and margin.
Review of new customer and supplier set up in Corridor, Aerotrac and IFS.
Application of customer receipts
Timely review of open POs, good receipted but not invoiced (GRNI) reports and preliminary supplier invoice report to ensure the timely payment of suppliers.
Preparation of various journal entries (i.e., license fees, royalties, bi-weekly payroll and on costs, etc.)
Responsible for Sales tax & license compliance (filing monthly sales tax returns for all required locations, all aspects of AZ5000 compliance; business license renewals and/or updates).
Payroll Backup/Support of HR – ADP and Corridor
Maintain and balance inter-company accounts monthly.
Maintain subledger and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly.
Annual personal property tax reporting.
Maintain fixed asset subledger and prepare monthly capital expenditure reporting to budget.
Review P&L and Balance Sheet each month for accuracy and completeness.
Create and maintain accurate Finance process documentation
Assist operations and other shared service departments with finance related queries.
Responsible for the weekly upload of Corridor (the operational system) into IFS (the accounting ERP)
Support the annual financial audit, budgeting and forecast processes, as required
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 5-10 years of experience in a general accounting position. Experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair and overhaul, and cost accounting is a plus.
Audit experience is a plus.
Achievement of a Professional Accounting qualification is a plus (e.g., CPA/CA).
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and be self-motivated with excellent follow-through and a strong ability to prioritize and multi-task within tight deadlines.
Ability to complete tasks in the most efficient manner and drive down turnaround times without impacting quality and accuracy.
Strong business acumen, including strong understanding of TAE’s customers and vendors and overall business relationships, as well as an understanding of internal controls and GAAP.
Critical Thinking- ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Problem Solving – ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Ability to adapt to change and work in a changing environment.
Must possess organization skills and a strong work ethic.
Knowledge of aerospace industry, aircraft systems and the MRO industry preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with Corridor, Aerotrac, IFS ERP systems is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
