ESSENTIAL:
|
- Australian citizen with ability to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance
|
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic preferred)
|
- Skilled in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical design, and system development / modelling
|
- Demonstrable ability to deliver work on time and within the allocated budget
|
- Demonstrable knowledge of Australian relevant engineering standards and associated regulatory requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High proficiency with IT / MS Office applications
|
DESIRABLE (GENERAL):
|
- Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent recognised registration)
|
- Be a Registered as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ)
|
- Project Management qualification and experience
|
- Experience designing for and working with hazardous areas
|
- Technical or design experience in an aviation maintenance and/or engineering environment
|
- Broad knowledge and experience in maintenance practices in engineering or aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) in either the military or commercial fields.
|
- Gas turbine test cell and test cell systems design or maintenance experience.
|
DESIRABLE (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING):
|
- High proficiency with CAD, FEA, CFD applications
|
- Knowledge and experience working gas turbine or other mechanical power generation equipment
|
DESIRABLE (MECHATRONICS and ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING):
|
- Sound understanding of electronic control and data acquisition systems.
|
- Experience with common DAS / PLC platforms, such as NI, Allen Bradley, Honeywell and IEC programming standards
|
- Understanding of signal transducers, types and interfaces. E.g.: 4-20mA loops, Thermocouples, RTDs, Load cells, pressure transmitters, Flow transmitters
|
- Familiarity with digital communication for process control. E.g.: Modbus TCP / RTU, HART
|
- Ability to read and create schematic drawings and material / component schedules to a proper engineering standard.
|
- Understanding of basic electronics; including signal processing, signal conversion, power supply systems, RFI / RFC considerations, Hazardous area techniques.
|
- Understanding of wiring systems. E.g.: Cable types and applications, installation techniques, equipment wiring.
|
DESIRABLE (MECHATRONICS and ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING):
|
- Understanding of Australian electrical standards. Particularly AS/NZS3000 and associated in the series.
|
- Competency with the Labview programming package.
|
- Understanding of systems engineering models, with the ability to interpret relevant documents and create these where necessary.
|
- Experience with instrument calibration and practical commissioning of industrial control and data acquisition systems
|
- Highly developed numeric and analytical skills including the ability to identify common trend in complex/disparate data
