About the role:

Calvary Launceston is offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated and passionate Registered Nurse to join our senior clinical leadership team. The Deputy Director of Clinical Services (DDCS) will report to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) and will be accountable for activities that enhance operational efficiencies, improve patient satisfaction and result in the provision of cost effective healthcare solutions.

The successful applicant will be provided with a comprehensive orientation, opportunities to participate in leadership training and receive professional mentoring/coaching from the DCS.

The DDCS will be classified as a Registered Nurse Level 4 and remuneration will be inline with Calvary Health Care - Tasmania Private Hospitals - Nurse and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2022. It is full-time, day work position on a permanent basis. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the Nurse Unit Managers implement, evaluate and maintain patient safety and quality through compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards (NSQHSS).
  • Ensures a focus on providing a high standard of patient experience across all aspects of clinical service delivery.
  • Coordinates the House Medical Officer (HMO) roster
  • In collaboration with the DCS develop and drive key clinical workforce (recruitment and retention) strategies.
  • Recognises and acts in accordance to the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care.
  • May represent the DCS at official meetings and functions, or backfill during periods of leave.
  • Plays a key role in developing and managing service delivery across the hospital services including resources and financial management, and creates an environment that drives the achievement of the organisation’s vision, strategy and business plans 

What you bring 

Essential

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Minimum five (5) years’ post-graduate nursing experience.
  • Senior leadership experience in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to best practice.
