Calvary Adelaide Hospital is offering a unique opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated and passionate Healthcare leader and Registered Nurse to join our senior clinical leadership team. The Deputy Director of Clinical Services - Inpatient areas (DDCS) reports directly to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS), whilst working closely with the other DDCS's throughout the hospital. This role is responsible for the daily operational management of inpatient wards. This role has a focus on the successful implementation of the ACHS National Standards and service delivery of patient centred care. The role is accountable for activities that enhance operational efficiencies, improve patient satisfaction and result in the provision of cost effective healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities include 
 
• Oversees successful operational management of the inpatient areas.
• Support and lead the inpatient clinical manager team to implement, evaluate and maintain patient safety and quality through compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards (NSQHSS).
• Ensures a focus on providing a high standard of patient experience across all aspects of clinical service delivery.
• In collaboration with the DCS develop and support key clinical workforce challenges (recruitment and retention) strategies.
• Focus on change management and implementation of best practice.
• Recognises and acts in accordance to the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care.
• Opportunity to act in the Director of Clinical Services role during periods of leave.
• Plays a key role in developing and managing service delivery across the hospital services including resources and financial management, and creates an environment that drives the achievement of the organisation’s vision, strategy and business plans 
 
What you bring 
 
Essential
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Minimum five (5) years’ post-graduate nursing experience.
• Senior leadership experience in healthcare.
• Demonstrated outstanding organisational and leadership skills.
• Well developed understanding of risk management and risk mitigation strategies
• Experience in managing human resources
• Understanding of KPI’s that impact hospital performance 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Supports and exemplifies good workplace culture and development of staff
