About the role

The position of a Leisure & Activities and Support Worker is part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework attending to the needs of clients. The role is instrumental to ensuring that we are providing high quality care to our clients at all times.

Key Responsibilities

* Providing Transport for our day clients to and from the Respite Cottage

* Support clients to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence

* Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the clients, through assessment and observation.

* With the support of the Respite Coordinator, deliver a program of activities that are aligned to individual care needs and run group         programs to increase socialisation.

* Ensure that clients can contribute to their community by participating in meaningful activities that engage them in normal daily life. 

* Encourage residents to live their best life through participation of meaningful activities and act as an advocate for clients.

 

About you

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (desirable)
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence, insured, reliable motor vehicle and smart mobile phone
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smart  phones, email and internet
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
