About the role
 
The Head of Clinical Governance - Hospitals at Calvary is the driving force behind top-notch quality and continuous improvement in both public and private hospitals. This role champions national initiatives to elevate clinical performance, working hand-in-hand with service executives to ensure the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Your main duties will include:
  • Lead and implement quality improvement and risk management initiatives across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain clinical quality systems consistently across hospitals.
  • Oversee national clinical policies and procedures within the document control process.
  • Create and implement strategies for managing clinical risks and enhancing care quality.
  • Support and mentor staff on quality improvement tools and methods, and guide Calvary services on accreditation and standards.
  • Monitor compliance with accreditation requirements and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Provide strategic direction for benchmarking activities and manage quality and safety initiatives.
  • Report on quality system performance, ensuring alignment with standards and stakeholder needs, and develop frameworks for a patient-focused quality system.

 

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in health/quality management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, quality, and safety principles with practical experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing quality improvement programs in healthcare.
  • Experience with accreditation standards and applying audit and benchmarking for quality change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent time management, organisational skills, and proficiency in computer applications, with a commitment to Calvary's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Desirable
  • Ability to prepare and present education programs
