About the role
 

Calvary John James Hospital is seeking a Junior or New Grad Social Worker to provide exceptional quality holistic care to our inpatients and their families. This includes support during their hospital stay and assisting with the discharge planning process as appropriate.

The successful applicant will be working alongside a senior social worker within the Allied Health team. They will be provided with clinical supervision, support and ongoing training and professional development.

This position is casual with the view for part time, hours and days negotiable.

New Graduates are encouraged to apply.

The social workers are based on the medical / geriatrics ward, surgical, orthopaedic and rehabilitation wards.

 
Your main duties will include:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the skills required for this position

  • Demonstrated ability to participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary team, consistent with the philosophy and policies of the Organisation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external clients.

About you

  • An appropriate degree in Social Work

  • Eligibility for registration with AASW.

  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
