  • Salary Classification: Radiation Therapist Level 2 Yr 1-2.
  • Remuneration: $40.23 - $45.38 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's 

THE ROLE:

The New Graduate Radiation Therapist will have the opportunity to provide high quality, safe, patient-centred clinical radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery services; while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and continually enhancing the quality of service and patient experience.

Calvary Mater Newcastle’s Department of Radiation Oncology is NSW’s largest regional specialist radiation therapy centre. The department is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists, Nursing, Allied Health, Clerical and Domestic services personnel, who work together to ensure patients receive the best possible care and treatment.

DUTIES:

  • Is thoroughly conversant with and competent in the use and application of simulation, planning and treatment equipment and procedures. 
  • Is competent in the use of the ARIA patient management computer system.
  • Keep up-to-date with current techniques, technology and trends in Radiation Oncology.
  • Explain all procedures that will occur to patients, their family and carers

ABOUT YOU:

  • Holds Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy), AHPRA registration and EPA licence necessary to practice Radiation Therapy in NSW.
  • Demonstrated basic experience in all aspects of radiation therapy.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated good time and task management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
