About you

The Clinical Midwifery Facilitator is responsible for delivering clinical learning to Midwives and to act as a resource person to support all staff with a particular emphasis on Student Midwives, graduates and new staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participation in the planning process  for the education and training strategy for the department
  • Provide clinical teaching activities that demonstrate the principles of adult learning and reflective practice
  • Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs to staff that lead to achievement of nursing competency in relevant clinical activities
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of Student Midwives,  Graduate Midwives and new staff within the clinical setting
  • Facilitates and supports assessment of clinical competence within the framework of the ANMC Competency Standards

What you bring

  • AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in all areas of Midwifery including antenatal, post-natal and birth suite
  • Previous experience in an education/training role desirable but not essential 
  • Ability to develop and deliver clinical education and training 
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
