- Remuneration: $54.76-$56.54 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's
THE ROLE:
Calvary Mater Newcastle is currently seeking a Social Worker Level 3. This position will be primarily based in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, however there are opportunities to utilise your skills and knowledge as part of a supportive department across all areas of practice within CMN.
The successful applicant is responsible for the provision of social work services and the maintenance of professional social work standards. This responsibility will include provision of advanced social work services in the CMN ED and ICU, leading complex cases, and contributing to planning, evaluation, and quality improvement.
If there are no suitable level 3 applicants, level 2 applicants may be considered.
Interviews for shortlisted applicants will be held on Friday, 28th March 2025.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor of Social Work or other equivalent qualification providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in psychosocial theory and assessment
- Demonstrated clinical experience in crisis intervention including trauma, counselling, case coordination for patients/families with life limiting illnesses, domestic violence, child protection, end of life care and bereavement support.
- Demonstrated experience in a hospital setting and ability to undertake high level assessment and brief intervention skills within this setting
- Demonstrated advanced time management, organisational, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills, with the ability to liaise and engage collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated capacity to provide staff supervision and demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development
- Commitment to the philosophy, mission and values of Calvary as it applies to the Hospital and the ability and desire to uphold these principles
