- Remuneration: $34.46-$35.54 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.
About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with high attention to detail to join our friendly Clinical Information department team on a part-time basis. The role is predominantly responsible for the collection, preparation, scanning and quality checking of patient health information ensuring it is readily accessible to clinical staff to support effective treatment, care and decision-making
The Administration officer plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of medical records liaising with internal and external departments. The role is required to learn and work with multiple electronic systems and medical record formats whilst maintaining strict patient privacy and confidentiality. Staff are required to rotate across different positions in the department and will need to become skilled in multiple areas of functioning. The role provides opportunity to upskill and advance as NSW health transitions in to Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing comprehensive administrative and records management support services.
- Ensuring documentation from the most recent episodes of care are available, prepped in a timely manner to support Digitised medical record scanning
- Operating scanning equipment in line with established guidelines to convert paper documents into accessible digital images in an accurate and timely manner
- Conducting quality control checks on both prepped and scanned documents to ensure scanned records are complete and of high-quality.
- Managing records, which includes retrieving, filing, tracking, and maintaining paper-based medical records
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in to the i.PM Patient Administration system.

About you:
- Demonstrated experience working in a Medical Record Department or in a hospital administrative role with the responsibility of maintaining patient records in paper and electronic formats
- Demonstrated attention to detail in all aspects of work and ability to work independently, as part of team and to function in and promote a multi-disciplinary team approach
- Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively process high volume workload, to meet deadlines and flexible in approach to work
- Demonstrated computer literacy including use of patient administration systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality and information security requirements as they apply in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and willingness to develop skillset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner, and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders, both internal and external
- Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures
