About the role
We are currently seeking a Nurse/Midwifery Unit Manager to join our team in Wagga Wagga. The Nurse/Midwife Manager position is currently a job share role with the vacant FTE 4 days a week. St Gerard's is a diverse department that incorporates Maternity Services, paediatric elective surgery and general surgery, with a focus on women's health.
As a Nurse/Midwifery Unit Manager you will be responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of the department ensuing quality of care and patient safety is paramount, whilst managing operational efficiency.
Your main duties will include:
- Clinical Leadership: Commitment to high quality patient centred care, quality and clinical risk management, clinical indicator results, participation in ACHS accreditation processes, works in a clinical capacity within the department as required
- Administrative Management: Financial, equipment and human resource management within the department and maintenance of the workforce profile
- Team Development/Strategic Planning: Promotion of a positive work culture, incorporating the varied specialist areas within the department, and contribute to the development of services to ensure quality of care can be maintained
About you
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife
- Tertiary Qualification in Midwifery
- Post-registration experience across all midwifery domains
- Previous leadership and managerial experience
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in supporting and leading change management
- Australian Citizenship or permanent residency
