The People & Culture Manager will provide high-level support and strategic guidance to senior leadership within the region, ensuring effective management of the full range of People & Culture functions. Leading a team of regional HR professionals, this role will focus on driving exceptional employee relations, improving service delivery, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 

You will play a key role in driving the development and delivery of strategic People and Culture initiatives that support the achievement of Calvary's workforce strategy and broader strategic intent.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and build capability of managers and employees including providing expert coaching, education and support to operational leaders on people and culture related matters. 
  • Oversee employee relation matters for your region.
  • Drive performance of workforce related Key Performance Indicators, including utilising workforce metrics and analysis of workforce data and partner with senior management to develop and implement strategies to achieve performance improvement that align with strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership, and work in accordance with the mission and vision of Calvary and actively participate in developing a culture that promotes Calvary’s values of healing, hospitality, stewardship and respect.  
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Executive teams and people leaders across the region.   
  • Manage, and provide advice relating to dispute and conflict resolution matters with employees, managers and industrial associations. 
  • Support the region to ensure that there is a clear and detailed operational plan for people, culture and safety, contributing to the strategic plan for regional services that aligns with Calvary’s National Strategic Intent.   

 

What you bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent and substantial HR-specific skills, knowledge, and experience acquired through professional practice. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and engage stakeholders at all levels across an organisation. 
  • Proven experience in employee relations, including recent experience in effectively managing cases including workplace investigations and grievances. 
  • Sound knowledge in the application of industrial and legislative framework. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of People & Culture professionals to achieve a high performance and positive team culture.  
  • Experience in driving organisation change programs to achieve strategic objectives.  
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience in preparing executive briefs and a range of stakeholder correspondence.  
  • Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Calvary and the ability and desire to uphold these at all times.  
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role
