About the role

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the operation of plant, equipment and services are at optimal levels to sustain building and engineering services on a continuous basis. 

The successful individual will work with internal stakeholders and coordinate external contractors in the provision of maintenance services including but not limited to: repair of existing plant, machinery and fittings; and participate as necessary in processes associated with capital works improvement and refurbishments

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate practical experience and proficiency in the area of electrical maintenance
  • Undertake a daily operational and maintenance check of all plant, equipment and buildings
  • Perform general maintenance / handyman duties or work across other trade areas within skill level, as required 
  • Demonstrate understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with maintenance of a private hospital facility

What you bring 

  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Full valid Australian working rights
  • Work experience in an electrical trade, and coordination of service delivery
  • Previous experience in the operation of electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, steam, communications and bio-medical engineering services will be highly regarded
  • Good time management, communication and organisational skills
  • Valid motor vehicle license
  • Knowledge of building management systems (desirable)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of risk management processes and systems
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
