  • Salary Classification: Resident Medical Officer, Year 3-4.
  • Remuneration: $55.97 - $60.76  per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's 

THE ROLE:

The Senior Resident Medical Officer will offer consultations to undifferentiated patients in a critical care setting. They will have the responsibilities and opportunities, based on their competence, to assess, diagnose, and treat presenting patients under the supervision of Specialist Staff within the Emergency Department.

DUTIES:

  • Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to SRMO Skills
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure that patients are discharged to a safe environment
  • Ensure that appropriate follow up arrangements are in place for the patients being discharged home

ABOUT YOU:

  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia or Eligible to register.
  • Completion of at least two postgraduate years with a genuine interest in Emergency Medicine.
  • Recent Emergency / Acute Care experience in a Base and/or Teaching Hospital.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated good organisational and time management skills.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
  • Ability and willingness to work towards the delivery of patient care and preparedness and ability to participate in a 24 hour shift work roster. With a commitment to quality management, patient safety and risk management.
