About the Calvary Hobart 2025 Enrolled Nurse Supported Transition Program
Our ENSTP aims to offer you a wonderful introduction to your nursing career, providing a dynamic and supportive setting for you to consolidate your nursing practice in an environment that facilitates your growth and development as a professional nurse. We are thrilled to offer this program over six months, with ongoing employment in a permanent position.
We appreciate that transitioning into practice is an exciting, although challenging, time. We base our ENSTP on a best-practice Transition Changes Model, enabling us to identify your personal and professional needs as a newly graduated nurse and to support you effectively throughout this journey.

Our program includes:

  • Comprehensive orientation program
  • Two graduate-specific study days
  • Supported supernumerary practice days
  • Allocated preceptors, educators and consistent ENSTP coordinator support
  • Initial reduced clinical load
  • Regular debrief opportunities
  • Career progression and ongoing employment opportunities after your ENSTP is completed

Graduate nurse positions may be at either of our two Hobart hospitals – Lenah Valley or St John’s – and are available in a variety of clinical settings, including General Surgical & Paediatrics; Acute Medical; Acute Rehabilitation Services; General & Specialised Surgical; and Oncology, Haematology & Palliative Care.
