About the role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Commis Chef will ensure meals are served at an exceptional standard. The Commis Chef will assist in maximising patient satisfaction whilst maintaining Food Safety Standards, supporting the Executive Chef with food preparation and Kitchen Stewardship. The Commis Chef is an integral part of the kitchen at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. This is a Casual position involving regular weekend work and public holidays.
Main duties will include:
- Assisting in the daily preparation of daily meals
- Assisting staff in their daily work
- Be a key driver in the standards and quality level the kitchen produces and achieves
- Adhere to WHS guidelines and practices while monitoring staff adherence
Desirable Criteria:
- Fully qualified Chef
- Ability to create exceptional quality food across the catering spectrum including, function work and celebration days
- Previous experience in Health Care or Aged Care an advantage
- Be food proud and own your dishes
- Have a firm understanding of the Food Standards and how to maintain a Food Safety Program
