    About you

    You will have advanced skills and knowledge enabling you to support staff and VMOs in the smooth running of lists with a focus on patient safety and best outcomes.  The ability to provide ongoing education, guidance and leadership to junior staff is essential to ensure success in this role. The Clinical Nurse of Anaesthetics is required to work in accordance with the mission and vision of Calvary and actively participate in a culture that promotes Calvary’s values.

    Key Responsibilities 

    Lead the anaesthetic team by providing guidance, trouble shooting for staff, patients and VMOs.

    Provide education and mentorship to more junior staff and support the Clinical Manager of Anaesthetics.

    Equipment, medication and procurement management.

    VMO liaison.

    Work in the Team Leader of Anaesthetics role as required.

    What you bring 

    • Current AHPRA Nursing Registration
    • Minimum two (2) years post graduate experience in perioperative services
    • Demonstrated skills and knowledge within Anaesthetics
    • Sound understanding of clinical standards, including upholding ACORN standards, demonstrated knowledge of ANZCA Guidelines and local policies and procedures
    • Accountable for own standards of practice, providing support and ongoing education to junior staff
    • Dedicated to best practice and best patient outcomes
