ICU Clinical Manager - Full Time

We're seeking an experienced Clinical Manager to lead our dynamic Intensive Care Unit at Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. As the Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and clinical management of the Intensive Care Unit, coordinating the activity of the nursing staff and associated resources.  Working in collaboration with the Medical Director for ICU and the Calvary Adelaide ICU Management Team, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the efficient management, coordination and leadership of the ICU team, providing evidence-based and high quality patient care.  The Clinical Manager will ensure that the clinical risk of the unit is minimised through following and maintaining clinical guidelines and policies and ongoing development of high-quality skilled nursing workforce.

About the role

The Intensive Care Clinical Manager plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the unit, providing operational management and leadership of nursing / staff to ensure the provision of high quality patient and family centred care and nursing excellence at unit level.

Duties include but are not limited to: operational planning, service delivery as relevant to contracted activity targets, service development, clinical standards, patient safety, national activity benchmarks, human resource management, financial and capital asset management and administrative coordination.

What you bring 

  • Intensive Care Unit Management experience (or similar) of at least 3 years
  • Graduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level leadership including operational processes  relevant to service provision within a complex and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Creativity and vision to propose new initiatives and/or change existing programs to meet future organisational and employee needs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
