About the role
At Calvary Central Districts Hospital, we are seeking a motivated and professional Ward Clerk to join our busy medical/surgical ward. The position is for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday day work.
Your duties will include:

Greet and direct patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a courteous and professional manner.

Answer and manage incoming calls and inquiries for the ward.

Maintain accurate patient records, including admission, discharge, and transfer documentation.

Update electronic medical records and paper files as required.

Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures in coordination with clinical staff.

Liaise with other hospital departments such as radiology, pharmacy, and housekeeping.

Ensure all clerical supplies are stocked and ordered as needed.

Assist in preparing patient charts and maintaining ward filing systems.

Process incoming and outgoing mail and internal correspondence.

Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Support the nursing and medical staff with administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications and skills
-
Previous experience in a healthcare or administrative role is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced, sensitive environment with a high level of accuracy.
-
Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage.
