About the role

As a Support Worker in Catering, your role will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering, and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks.

  • Assist with the catering service to meet resident’s food requirements. This will include food preparation, food storage, food hygiene, distribution and serving meals.
  • Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Dining rooms.
  • Work with the food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleaning to resident’s rooms and all general areas.
  • Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures.
  • Maintain efficient and open communication.
  •  

About you

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (desirable)
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence, insured, reliable motor vehicle and smart mobile phone
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smart  phones, email and internet
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
