About the role
This position has operational accountability for their team within the Calvary Bereavement Counselling Service and reports operationally to the Department Head (Director of Allied Health and Non-Admitted Care) and has professional accountability to their Discipline Advisor.
The Team Leader will provide operational direction, lead, guide and manage the team across the relevant facility and facilitate the implementation of high levels of clinical expertise in order to provide high quality care to patients/clients and their carers consistent with Calvary Healthcare Kogarah and relevant Government Health policies, procedures and standards. The position contributes directly to the development of policy, with consideration of the strategic context.
 
About you:
  • Qualifications in accordance with Sub-Schedule A of the NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Professional and Associated Staff Agreement 2022 for Counsellor / Social Worker and eligible for membership with the relevant professional association including demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
    • Extensive clinical experience within Bereavement Counselling.
    • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and demonstrated application of evidence-based practice within their clinical area
    • Negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level guidance, leadership, and strategic management of staff, resources, and services, with a strong focus on building team capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
    • Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah.
