Casual- After Hours Nurse Manager
About the role
The purpose of this position is the operational management of Calvary Riverina Hospital in the evening and night time hours of hospital operations. The After Hours Nurse manager works closely with the Executive team of Calvary Riverina to support the organisation business objectives and safe high quality patient care.
The position provides a high level of clinical leadership, models the values of Calvary health and supports a positive and professional workplace culture.
You will play a key role in patient care, responding to incidents and emergencies promptly,. All required training and education will be provided to ensure your success in this vital role. This position is a Monday to Friday evening and night position with 24 hour coverage on the weekends.
Your main duties will include:
- Managed unplanned staff leave
- Coordinate and manage patient flow after hours.
- Liaising with VMO’s and external facilities for planned and unplanned admissions after Hours.
- Coordinate emergency responses after hours.
- Manage escalation of concerns and feedback by patients and their families
About you
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Post graduate experience in public and/or private health sector including clinical nursing practice.
- Demonstrated experience at a management level of a department or facility level.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary clinical practice.
- Proven experience in change management, facilitating positive workplace culture and maintaining positive and constructive relationships.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage priorities and a busy workload.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to manage priorities and a busy workload.
