About the role
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. As a Hospital Cook, you will play an important role in preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, you will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, food safety, and maintaining high standards of hygiene while working collaboratively with the wider catering team.
Your main duties will include:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with standard recipes, menus, and dietary requirements.
- Maintain compliance with NSW Health food safety standards and infection prevention procedures.
- Work collaboratively with dietitians, supervisors, and the Food Services team to meet patient needs.
About you
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare, aged care, or commercial kitchen environment.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to prepare meals for a variety of therapeutic and texture-modified diets.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Preferred Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) or relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles.
