About the role

As a Support Worker your role will be to assist a diverse range of clients including aged, disability and high needs clients with activities of daily living and providing support services such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite and Personal Care at their home and in the community. 

Daily services and routines can vary considerably. Workers receive detailed instructions from their Client Services Officer so they know when to visit their clients and what assistance to provide. Some clients may have a detailed care plan or task list in the home, which will provide workers with further details. Usually, Workers have several clients. They may visit several clients in one day with each job lasting just an hour or two. Sometimes a Support Worker may have an all-day job with a client. Workers may have regular clients they see daily or weekly for months or years, others may visit clients for just a short period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Our Support Workers must enjoy working with people and preferably have previous caring experience
  • Our Support Worker vacancies have a minimum qualification requirement of a Certificate III in Aged Care
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smart  phones, email and internet

About you

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support (desirable)
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence, comprehensive car insurance, reliable motor vehicle and smart mobile phone
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
