About the Role

The Data Scientist role is responsible for leading, building, implementing, and supporting AI and statistical analysis. The role prepares complex data, training data sets, builds and tests models, and is responsible for documentation, and ongoing evaluation of AI algorithms. The Data Scientist demonstrates expertise in all stages of AI and statistical analysis, AI development, and execution methodologies, offering an in-depth knowledge of AI to its stakeholders, peers, and the organisation.

The key selection criteria associated with this role is:

  • Gather data, analyse, and research to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs
  • Oversee, develop, test and implement machine learning algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Build datasets for training data sets for models Lead, monitor and evaluate AI modelling and accuracy
  • Maintain a good understanding of ongoing research and product/feature releases in the space of generative AI 
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure good data quality, integrity, and availability of data

Desirable

  • Experience in data modelling and data storage systems, as well as knowledge of modern data warehouse technologies and approaches.
  • 5+ years Proficiency in data science and analytics tools/platforms such as SQL, R, Excel, JavaScript, or Python
  • 1-2 years experience in building and implementing ML/AI models
