At Baptcare, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kinship Care Senior Practitioner to join our Community Services team in West. Your role will be pivotal in supporting and empowering families facing challenges, ensuring that every child finds a safe and nurturing environment within their extended family or community.

As a Kinship Care Senior Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families. You will be responsible for assessing and facilitating kinship care placements, providing ongoing support, advocacy, and case management services to ensure the well-being of these children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of kinship care applicants, considering their suitability, strengths, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with families, case managers, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored care plans that prioritize the child's best interests.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and resources to kinship carers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the complexities of caring for a child from a challenging background.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children and their carers, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Support the Team Leader in role modeling best practices, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and providing guidance to staff in kinship care services.
-Assist with the supervision of team members, ensuring quality service delivery, and contributing to their professional growth through training.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working in the child and family welfare sector, with a focus on kinship care or out-of-home care services.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions in complex situations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for supporting vulnerable children and families.
