About the Opportunity
As a Local Area Coordinator, you'll work directly with individuals and families to identify their goals, strengths, and support needs. You'll build meaningful relationships while helping people navigate services, connect with their local community, and develop their independence. This role combines case coordination with community development, making it perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their work.
What You'll Do
- Conduct assessments and develop person-centered support plans
- Connect people with appropriate services, programs, and community resources
- Build strong working relationships with clients, families, and service providers
- Maintain accurate records and report on outcomes
- Collaborate with the broader Community Services team
- Participate in community events and networking activities
What We're Looking For
- Relevant qualification in social work, community services, or related field
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team
- Current driver's license and willingness to travel within the local area
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and person-centered approaches
