Family Services Practitioner Community Kinship Program
Part time 0.6 FTE max term contract until 30th June 2027

- $105,570 - $110,350 per annum pro rata (FTE). This role is paid hourly in line with the SCHADS Award Level 5 and based on classification and experience.

About the Role

As a Family Services Practitioner in our Community Kinship Program, you'll play a vital role in supporting to improve the safety, wellbeing and health of children and young people, and improving outcomes for children and young people across Northern Tasmania.

As a Family Services Practitioner within our Community Kinship program, you will:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of families
- Build strong relationships with carers, children, young people, and key stakeholders
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy for families
- Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to practice
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and best interests of children and young people
- Collaborate with Child Safety Services and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes
About You:
You are a compassionate and resilient practitioner who is committed to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.
You will bring:
- Strong assessment, case management, and engagement skills
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, attachment, and risk assessment
- Experience applying evidence-informed and therapeutic approaches in practice
- Experience working with families experiencing complex needs
- Confidence engaging with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse families
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- The ability to exercise sound professional judgement and work effectively under limited supervision
- A genuine alignment with BaptistCare's Mission, Vision, and Values
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, community services, psychology or a related human services discipline, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering family‑centred or child‑focused services in a community services setting
- Sound understanding of child safety, family violence, trauma
- Experience working within funded family services programs Strong engagement, assessment, and case management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously within a team environment
Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, accountability, and continuous improvement
