About the role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older persons? selectability is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic acting regional manager from 3 September 2025 – 20 October 2025. The acting regional manager will lead selectability’s aged care services located in the lower gulf of remote Queensland at Mornington Island, Doomadgee and Normanton. The acting regional manager is a full-time fixed term position FIFO position working a roster of 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off with all meals, accommodation and travel costs covered by selectability. This leave coverage role requires an individual with strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to improving aged care services.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality care and support services, ensuring our older persons receive the best possible care.

As the acting regional manager, you will manage a team of employees and manage resources efficiently to ensure the highest quality of life for the older people residing in the residential aged care facility. You will be responsible for providing initialised and holistic care, meeting the older persons needs and upholding quality of services aligned with the organisational standards.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals to deliver exceptional aged care services
  • ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
  • foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in care
  • develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery
  • manage budgets and resources efficiently to achieve operational goals

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

  • demonstrated experience in Aged Care and or the management of Aged Care facilities
  • strong knowledge of legislative and operating requirements within the Aged Care quality standards
  • ability to interpret and contribute to financial reports, experience in budget implementation and monitoring accounting
  • strong knowledge of operating requirements within the Health/Aged Care industry
  • ability to conduct care assessments
  • ability to interpret and understand policies and legislation
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals 
  • a demonstrated high level of attention to detail with a consistent approach
  • a demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required
  • ability to work under minimal supervision with the capacity to exercise initiative in the application of work processes and procedures and establish objectives and outcomes
  • a demonstrated ability to show empathy and compassion
  • a proven ability to think critically and approach challenges with innovation

Role Requirements

  • bachelor’s in nursing
  • current AHPRA registration
  • travel to selectability sites is required
  • current nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (or ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers' licence
  • current Flu vaccination - recommended
  • current Covid vaccination - recommended
