THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will develop, implement and execute the Company’s Learning and Development strategy and play a key role in providing industry leading programs, services and systems and whilst ensuring training compliance is met for the business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continue to deliver the long-term learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with our purpose, our values and the company’s overall strategic direction.
  • Manage a team that delivers all Learning & Development activities across the business, including Operational, Technical, and Professional training, training needs analysis, training scheduling & delivery, training vendor relationship management, course participation management and training logistics.
  • Lead the design and implementation of organisational development (OD) initiatives to support the continuous maturing of PLS’ culture, including leadership development, culture measurement, performance feedback and development, talent management, succession planning, and team building.
  • Work with Senior Management groups and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build and implement Learning & Development solutions in line with business strategy.
  • Maintain and improve the company’s Learning Management System and its reporting system.
  • Lead, identify and negotiate the learning and development programs with external third-party providers as required.

 

This is a permanent full-time role which operates on a hybrid roster between our Pilgangoora Operation and the Company’s Corporate office in West Perth with a rotation of 4:3 (site), 5:2 (Corporate).

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Training and Assessing
  • Significant experience in Learning and Development.
  • Proven experience leading a team of learning/training providers in heavy industry
  • Relevant experience or demonstrated ability in implementing strategies and turning those strategies into people-related actions; and managing execution.
  • Experience with on-site delivery of operational and technical training services
  • Knowledge of leading industry training and learning and development practices.
  • Strong relationship, influence, presentation and motivational skills.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (including Excel), also with strong report writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with operating and improving LMS
