THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor Boilermaker, the role of Senior Boilermaker ensures the PLS fleet of mobile equipment is maintained in a safe and mechanically sound condition, to deliver maximum uptime for the Mining Group and to ensure that PLS interests are always protected.
This is a permanent full-time role which operates on an 8/6 7/7 (days & nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that works being performed is done in a safe manner, and in line with company OH&S standards.
- Carry out fabrication and welding repair maintenance activities on heavy mining equipment.
- Carry out bucket inspections and create detailed notifications for future planned repairs.
- Carry out GET inspections on the Mining Fleet (Buckets / Blades and Bodies).
- Work towards increasing equipment reliability and availability.
- Work effectively to a maintenance schedule.
- Assess unplanned repairs and find the best way to effect suitable repairs.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and follow-up or feedback on issues raised are undertaken in an effective manner.
ABOUT YOU
- Statutory S26 Supervisor qualified.
- Frontline leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years post trade mine site exposure and experience in completing bucket / blade / body repairs and drill maintenance across a variety of MEM equipment (CAT, Epiroc, Komatsu).
- Strong commitment to Safety Culture.
- Strong understanding and awareness of an open cut mining environment.
- Ability to work as a safe and productive crew member, and to encourage others.
- Ability to adapt within a variety of situations, and with various groups and individuals.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Workshop standards, processes and techniques.
- Proven strong collaborative and liaison skills, with a good understanding of operations and equipment usage.
- Relevant nationally recognised Trade Qualification.
- High Risk Work licences: Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights.
- High Risk Crane (CV) and Basic Rigging (RB) licences; preferred but not essential.
- Current Driver’s Licence (Minimum LR Class).
