The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Optimisation & Clearance Manager to take ownership of distressed and excess inventory across our Duty Free and Travel Essentials & Specialty divisions across Australia and New Zealand. This is a commercially focused, results-driven max-term contract through to December 2026, where you will manage the end-to-end recovery and exit strategy for excess stock, maximising cash recovery through markdowns, rebalancing, supplier returns, liquidation partners, and other exit channels. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and includes a significant performance-based bonus linked to stock recovery outcomes.

What You’ll Do:
✅ Develop and execute inventory recovery and stock clearance strategies across multiple exit channels
✅ Manage markdown strategies and monitor sell-through performance to ensure stock is actively moving
✅ Identify opportunities for stock rebalancing across locations to maximise sell-through and recovery value
✅ Build and manage relationships with suppliers, liquidation partners, and clearance channels
✅ Provide reporting on stock recovery, cash recovered, and remaining inventory exposure

Qualifications & Experience
✅ 5+ years’ experience in inventory management, clearance/liquidation, merchandise planning, or retail supply chain
✅ Proven experience managing markdown programs, stock clearance, or distressed inventory recovery
✅ Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with inventory data and build tracking/reporting tools
✅ Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and stakeholder management skills
✅ Experience working cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, commercial, and operations teams
✅ Ability to work autonomously in a results-driven, time-bound role
