The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager to oversee our property, facilities, and fleet operations across Australia. With a clear mandate to modernise and uplift our service delivery, you'll lead a high-performing team, shape long-term strategies, and play a pivotal role in major infrastructure projects.

About the Organisation

The NHVR, established in 2013, is Australia’s dedicated national regulator for heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. With our head office based in Brisbane, the NHVR works to streamline regulation across state and territory borders, reduce compliance burdens for industry, and strengthen safety and efficiency outcomes nationwide.

About the Role

As Manager – Property, Facilities and Fleet, you will lead a team of fourteen including five direct reporting professionals responsible for a broad and diverse portfolio. From site acquisitions and lease negotiations to facilities maintenance and fleet operations, you will develop and deliver a forward-looking strategy that drives excellence and consistency across all national sites.
Reporting to the Director, you’ll provide both strategic and operational advice to senior leadership and play an integral role in shaping and executing major infrastructure projects. A key aspect of this role is managing contract performance, ensuring project milestones are achieved, and maintaining oversight across all stages of delivery. The role includes regular interstate travel.

About You

You're a commercially astute leader with demonstrated experience managing property and fleet functions, and a passion for driving operational improvement. You bring a proven track record in transforming facilities management processes and managing diverse, high-value projects.
Your strengths include financial forecasting, budgeting, and supplier performance, along with the ability to translate complex contracts and ideas into clear, actionable strategies for a wide range of stakeholders. Exceptional communication, influencing skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities across a national footprint will set you apart.
